The Eyes of a Thousand Suns is a powerful Hex magic that can be called upon by individuals permitted to wield it. This Hex manifests in three distinct forms:

Form 1: Command and Obey

In its first form, the Hex allows the caster to order someone of a lower rank to obey their commands. This form compels the target to carry out quick tasks, as sustaining prolonged obedience is challenging. The effectiveness of this form increases if the caster holds a higher rank.

Form 2: Incineration

The second form causes the target to burn with the intensity of a thousand suns. The victim’s body turns to charcoal, with cracks glowing the colour of their soul before eventually disintegrating into ash. This form is a devastating and lethal application of the Hex.

Form 3: The Trial

The third form is the most powerful and versatile. It can be activated in several ways:

  1. A lower-ranked individual uses the Hex against someone of higher rank, or the higher-ranked person retaliates.
  2. The Hex is used as a trial.
  3. The Hex itself decides to host the trial, regardless of the user’s intent.

The Trial of a Thousand Suns

When the Trial is invoked, all individuals involved are transported to a separate plane of reality. In this plane, there is no sky, only an expanse of nothingness underfoot. Above, one thousand suns of varying colours and sizes burn brightly enough to sear the eyes, yet dark enough to count each one. Two primary outcomes can arise from the trial:

Judgment

The first scenario involves a judgement process where the accused must argue against their opposition. If found guilty, the individual will suffer the effects of Form 2 within this plane, burning under the thousand suns.

Test of Worthiness

The second scenario tests the individual’s worthiness. To prove oneself, the individual must survive the suns, starting from the weakest and enduring progressively stronger suns. Artifacts and magical techniques can be used for survival. The more suns one survives, the higher their rank becomes.

Historical Survivors

Throughout history, only two individuals have survived all one thousand suns. The first is an unknown individual who relied on numerous magical artifacts and techniques. The second is Command. When Command faced this trial, he was subjected to Form 2 but mockingly requested to bear the power of all thousand suns combined. Without any artifacts or magical techniques, Command emerged unscathed, earning the highest respect and rank in the history of The Eyes of a Thousand Suns.

This Hex exemplifies the intricate balance of power, punishment, and prestige within the Cosmos, showcasing the formidable abilities and indomitable spirit of those who master it.
